In the afternoon of December 2, 2023, St Pauls Creative held the official book launching of Mother of Surprises, the updated copy-table book of Fr. Armand Augustine A. Tangi. The book contains Fr. Armand’s paintings of different versions of “Madonna and Child” as well as his experiences and reflections on Mary’s “surprises” for him and his friends.
Many friends of Fr. Armand came to join him and wish him in advance for his 40th anniversary of priesthood. The launching was also an appeal to support the needs of St. Paul Seminary Foundation, Inc.; the proceeds of the book was for the support of those in formation and for the medical needs of the sick and elderly SSP members.
The afternoon program was hosted by Fr. Angelo Paolo Asprer, the Creative Director. Fr. Andres Inting of the Diffusion Department said the opening prayer, while Fr. John Klein Malificiar, the Director of Apostolate, introduced the book and the author.
Five readers read select portions of the book: Mr. Wilson So, Ms. Camille Prats, Ms. Cathy Cañares Yamsuan, Mr. Augosto Garcia, and Nikka Valdez Garcia. For intermission, Inspirational Diva Ms. Jamie Rivera rendered songs that she had popularized.
The afternoon concluded with a concelebrated Mass presided by Fr. Angelo Paolo Asprer with the homily given by Fr. Andres Inting.
Food service was undertaken by the famous Chef Jessie’s Place. Signature coffee drinks were also available at “Father’s Brew” managed by Fr. Albert Garong with the help of SSP Juniors.
