Fr Celso himself did the reading of the Report prepared for the General Chapter. A number of participants intervened to fine tune the report and all the relevant points were accepted and incorporated into the report.
After a short tea break the group reflected on the actual situation of the Region, its members and apostolic activities. Everyone expressed the hope and desire for greater stability of the members in the Region. For this it was felt that the incoming General Government should be prevailed upon to send to the Region only such members who will offer such stability and enthusiastic commitment to the life and mission in the Region as expected of us by the local church and the general public.
The assembly then proceeded to elect the delegate of the Region and his substitute for the General Chapter. Fr Sebastian Karamvelil was elected as the Region's delegate and Fr Pius Nechikkattil was elected the substitute.
Having completed all the requirement of the Constitutions, the Regional Superior declared the assembly closed.
