Grace and peace!
The next Sunday, 8th of May, the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord, we will celebrate the 50th World Communications Day, whose theme proposed by Pope Francis will be «Communication and Mercy: A Fruitful Encounter», in harmony with the Extraordinary Year of Mercy.
It is especially our task, as we have communication as charism, to spread the message of the Pope, promoting moments of prayer and reflection and, above all, putting it into practice, in the certainty that «communication has the power to build bridges, to enable encounter and inclusion».
We Paulines can make our contribution in this journey, beginning with listening to those who are next to us, bearing in mind that «listening also means being able to share questions and doubts, to journey side by side, to banish all claims to absolute power and to put our abilities and gifts at the service of the common good».
May the Lord help us to grow in the quality of communication and to collaborate in building the culture of encounter, by personal witnessing and with the technical tools available to us, «doing the charity of the truth».
