On August 20, 2021, which marked the 107th foundation anniversary of the Society of St Paul, Cleric Samy John Torrefranca made his solemn profession of the perpetual vows at the Sanctuary of St. Paul the Apostle in Makati City, Philippines. Fr. Rollin Flores, Provincial Superior of the Philippines-Macau presided over the Eucharistic celebration. Fr. Oliver Par, one of his batchmates, gave the homily. The rite was streamed online to enable family, relatives, and friends to join the celebration.

In his homily, Fr. Par stressed: “The perpetual profession of vows is a covenant you make with God. The Lord called you first and He remains faithful in calling you… Continue to be grateful to God by the offering of yourself through the practice of the vows you are about to profess.”

The General Superior, Don Valdir José de Castro, in his message highlighted that “perpetual profession of vows is a sign of love, of fondness, a gift to live and to share.” This profession of vows must “remain impressed in your heart as an indelible sign of your love and of the love of Jesus Master for humanity to whom he sends you.”

Before the final blessing, Cleric Samy thanked the Provincial Superior and his Council, his formators and persons who were instrumental in his journey.

A simple dinner agape was served at the residence of the Makati Community to cap the event.
