Novices Jack Shoeven Balcaan, John Cesar Pasan Caalem, John Christian Lacap, Russel Matthew Asturias Patolot and Earlson Jay Mendoza Reyes made their first profession of religious vows on July 18, 2021 at the Sanctuary of St. Paul the Apostle in Makati City. The Provincial Superior, Fr. Rollin Flores, presided over the Eucharistic celebration. Fr. Dante Lumabas gave the homily. The rite was streamed online to enable family, relatives, and friends to join the celebration.

In his homily, Fr. Lumabas highlighted the value of the evangelical vows in Pauline life. When one professes the evangelical vows, he is missioned to put the words of the profession into practice as a testament of life expressed closely in prayer, studies, apostolate, and common life. Fr. Lumabas ended his homily with a particular prayer for each newly professed.

Before the Mass ended, the General Superior, Don Valdir José de Castro wished the new clerics to live the commitment of the “joy of evangelizing” exhorting them: “You are taking on more intensely a lifestyle inspired by our charism, aimed at evangelization in the culture of communication, in the spirit of the Apostle Paul, as interpreted by our Founder, Blessed James Alberione.”

Cleric John Christian Lacap, in the name of his confreres, thanked the people who were instrumental in their formative years—their formators, spiritual directors and their families. He also thanked the Pauline Family members and those who made the celebration possible.

A simple lunch agape was served at Don Zanoni basketball gym to cap the event.
