The Provincial Superior, Fr. Rollin Flores, presided the rite of entrance to the Novitiate and Postulancy Programs during a special liturgy on July 18, 2020 at the St Paul Novitiate Chapel in Sindalan, San Fernando, Pampanga. Initiated to the Novitiate are Jack Shoeven Baclaan, John Cesar Pasan Caalem, John Christian Lacap, Russel Matthew Asturias Patolot, and Earlson Jay Mendoza Reyes.
Master of Postulants Fr. Jerome Palma, Novice Master Fr. Raymond Ferraris and Rev. Sebastian Gadia III assisted in the liturgy. Members of the Pampanga Community were also in attendance.
In his homily, Father Provincial exhorted the five Novices to undergo “sweet quarantine” that would officially initiate them to the religious life, particularly in the Society of St. Paul. He stressed that each novice must nurture the SEED of vocation throughout this special and important stage of formation. Taking reference with the current situation, the novices are in isolation to nourish the seed and allow it to grow. Father Provincial also challenged them to be in SHAPE, to be fit both in spirit and in body, emphasizing that they must always immerse themselves in PRAYER because genuine encounter with the Lord leads to conversion as what Blessed James Alberione experienced.
During the same liturgy, aspirants Peter Dominguez, Ronnel Matunog, and Melvin dela Cruz were also officially received into the Postulancy Program.
