Edward Christian Timothy E. Enebrad, the lone novice for the formation year 2019-2020, made his first profession of religious vows in the morning of June 26, 2020 at the Sanctuary of St. Paul the Apostle in Makati City. The Provincial Superior, Fr. Rollin Flores, presided the Eucharistic celebration with Novice Master Fr. Raymond Ferraris, gave the homily. The rite was streamed online to enable the family, relatives, and friends of the candidate to join the celebration.

Fr. Ferraris stressed in his homily that the profession of Edward Christian is his response to God’s call. Following the life and examples of Mary, Edward Christian is challenged to remain faithful to his religious vows following Mary’s consistent fiat and stabat. In his message, Superior General Don Valdir José de Castro exhorted the neo-professed to “be a young Pauline who goes out in order to reach all,” following the words of Pope Francis in his Apostolic Exhortation Christus Vivit: “Whatever the Lord touches becomes young, becomes new, and is filled with life.”

In his thanksgiving message, Christian Edward, who chose Paul’s cooperator Timothy as his personal patron and guide, thanked all who accompanied him in his formation journey and his parents who were not present due to the existing quarantine. The neo-professed made special mention of his elder brother Fr. Ian Paul Empig, whose profession of vows 15 years ago inspired him to join the Society of St. Paul.

A simple lunch agape was served to cap the event. Even in the midst of difficult situation, the Pauline community felt blessed by God’s faithfulness in sending vocations to the Province. Cleric Edward Christian Timothy is given the apostolic assignment as staff of STPAULS Wholesale Department.
