It was with great joy and gratitude to God the community of Enugu, together with the members of the Society of St Paul in Nigeria, celebrated the Perpetual Profession and the Ordination to the Sacred Order of the Diaconate of James Arinze Edeh on Saturday, 28th and Sunday, 29th, March 2020 respectively.
Rev. Fr Peter Perunnilathil, Delegate of the Provincial Superior, presided over the Eucharist and received the Vows in the presence of some of our members. During the homily, Fr Perunnilathil urged James to trust and remain faithful to the Lord who called him to be an effective Pauline to serve the Church and the People of God through the practice of the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity, obedience and fidelity to the Pope. In addition, the celebrant also highlighted the importance of the Pauline mission in Nigeria, and how one has to be committed for its growth, and be ready to face the innumerable challenges.

The next day of the Perpetual Profession, Most Rev. Ernest Anaezichukwu Obodo, the Auxiliary Bishop of Enugu, ordained our brother Edeh a deacon and entrusted to him the ministry of the Word and of Service.

Given the present scenario of the world, owing to Covid-19, both the ceremonies were held in small scale. Rev. Fr Varghese Gnalian, the Provincial Superior, his Councillors and the entire Province CONGRATULATE Deacon Edeh on his commitment to the Lord, and to the Pauline way of life. May he remain faithful to the Lord through the Evangelical Counsels, and experience joy in the Pauline mission.
