“Every day is special but some days are more special because of the presence of persons who bring us God’s blessings visibly into our lives”, said Fr Paul Kottackal, the Superior of the Community of Delhi in his welcoming note on the occasion of celebrating the fraternal visit of the Superior General, Don Valdir Jose De Castro, and Don Celso Godilano. Indeed, it was a day of both celebration and blessing for the community of Delhi as Don Valdir and Don Celso had arrived on October 25, 2017. On this auspicious time, the members of both Delhi and Allahabad community had the privilege of meeting them to share and express various concerns regarding our life and mission in India.

On the evening of October 26, the Pauline Family present in Delhi, namely, Daughters of St Paul and PDDM sisters, joined the community of St Paul for participating in the Holy Eucharist. The Mass was presided by the Superior General who stressed in his homily about the responsibilities of the Paulines in carrying out the Lord’s mission. Post the epitome of spiritual celebration, the community felicitated Don Valdir and Don Celso and wished them pleasant stay in India. The Pauline Family assured them of their prayers for the fruitful and successful provincial chapter. It was also an occasion of celebrating life and Bro Leo had blessed time as he celebrated his birthday in the presence of the Superior General and the General Councillor.

The Holy Eucharist on 27th October was presided by Don Celso who stressed in his reflection that we need to learn to predict God’s time/plan not through scientific methods or astrological predictions but through the Word of God.

After having listened to the members’ concerns in this short fraternal visit they expressed their happiness and gratitude to the community. And, having just few hours left for the Celebration of the Provincial Chapter, they left for Bangalore at the same day at noon
