Deakin University, with four campuses in Australia, has tied up with St. Pauls Institute of Communication Education (SPICE), with campuses in Mumbai and Bengaluru, to offer Indian students its two-year Masters in Communication. Designed innovatively for those who aim for careers in journalism, PR, corporate communications and advertising, students can also opt to do one or both semesters of the final year in Australia.

For the first time in India, students of mass media are being offered the opportunity to get an internationally-recognised Masters degree at one-third the cost, without leaving the country. Based upon the credit system and comprising a total of 16 credits over four semesters beginning mid-July 2016, the design of the course combines nuances of the communications industry in India with best practices in communications education from Australia. Emphasis will be placed upon analysis, research and enhancement of particular skillsets required by communications and media professionals.

Deakin University has been ranked among the top 150 universities in the world for communication both by Times Higher Education (THE) and 2016 QS subject rankings. St Pauls Institute of Communication Education is an up and coming establishment already known for its Post Graduate programmes in Journalism and Advertising, both of which emphasise first class faculty, and state of the art infrastructure in its Mumbai campus.
