Fr. Joselino Tuazon, a professed member of the Institute of Jesus Priest (IGS), marked his Silver Anniversary of Priesthood with a Eucharistic celebration at the Sanctuary of St. Paul in Makati last January 18, 2016. Concelebrating with him were SSP priests and some priests of the Archdiocese of Manila to which he belongs. Also present were representatives of the Pauline Family: Society of St. Paul, Daughters of St. Paul, Pious Disciples of the Divine Master, Pastorelle Sisters, Institute of Our Lady of the Annunciation, and Institute of the Holy Family.
Joining the community were members of Fr. Joey’s family, and benefactors and friends from the parishes where Fr. Joey did his priestly ministry. Fr. Joey served in the parishes of at the Immaculate Conception in Pasig, San Antonio de Padua in Malabon, Our Lady of Beautiful Love Parish in Paranaque, San Roque Parish in Pasay City, and Sacred Heart Parish in Sta Mesa. He had recently been assigned to St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Gagalangin, Tondo. Being new in his present assignment, he decided to have a simple celebration at SSP Makati.
Fr. Gil Alinsangan, in his homily, traced the “calls” that Fr. Joey responded to: to enter the seminary at a young age, to join the diocesan clergy of Manila after he left the seminary for a while, and then to be part of the Pauline Family as member of the IGS. After the homily, Fr. Joey renewed his priestly ministry before Fr. Hector Canon, the representative of His Eminence Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle, the Archbishop of Manila.
In his word of thanks, Fr. Joey gave special mention of Fr. Armand Tangi, SSP who arranged everything in the celebration. Fr. Joey originally thought of foregoing the anniversary, and so he was surprised to find out that everything had been prepared through Fr. Armand.
Reception after Mass was held at the Alberione Hall where family and friends gave a program in honor of the Jubilarian.
