On June 10, 2015 at three o’clock in the afternoon, the newly relocated ST PAULS Bookstore at SM CITY Iloilo was blessed by the Provincial Superior, Fr. Jose S. Aripio, SSP.
The guests of honor who joined in cutting the ceremonial ribbon for the opening were Mr. Dave Jamora and Mr. Jay Mabilog. During the blessing, Diffusion Director Fr. Andres Inting, SSP recalled the words of the Founder, Blessed James Alberione: “The Book Center is a temple; the religious who serves, a preacher; the counter is the pulpit of truth… If people do not go to church, let the church go to people.” Thus, validates the presence of a catholic bookstore in the mall.
Also present during the blessing were several SSP priests and staff from Makati, representatives from RJ Landoy and Associates, SM Mall administration personnels, members of the Pauline Family, and ST PAULS employees.
From its original site at the upper ground floor, the bookstore was transferred to a more spacious location at the ground floor.
Reception followed the blessing in which walk-in customers were also invited. As soon as the dorrs of the store were opened, droves of regular patrons and customers entered the bookshop and were delighted to see a variety of new books and religious articles.
