The rain did not stop the joyous occasion when Rev. Khris Emmanuel L. Llacer, SSP was ordained a priest by Most. Rev. Leopoldo Jaucian, SVD, DD. The celebration was held at the Sanctuary of St. Paul the Apostle in Makati, Philippines on July 4, 2015.

Fr. Khris hails from Dasmarinas, Cavite. He entered the Society of St. Paul at the young age of 16. After having completed his Novitiate, he was sent as a missionary to Spain and received most of his theological studies from the Comillas Pontifical University in Madrid, Spain.

In his homily, the good Bishop from the Diocese of Bangued reiterated that as the whole Church celebrates the Year of Consecrated Life, this ordination is an opportune time to thank the Lord for the gift of vocation and mission among the several religious priests, brothers and sisters, especially to those who were present. Moreover, centering on the joy of priesthood, prophetic witness and treasure in earthen vessel, Bishop Jaucian also generously thanked the family of Fr. Khris for the offering of their son as well as the Congregation and its superiors and formators who journeyed with Fr. Khris in his chosen vocation.

A good number of priests-concelebrants were present during the Eucharistic celebration. Most notable are Fr. John Klen Malificiar, SSP and Fr. Ian Paul Empig, SSP who were Fr. Khris’s seminary batchmates and who gave him a tight hug of welcome during fraternal embrace of peace.

Through a letter, the Superior General, Don Valdir Jose de Castro, SSP, graciously encouraged and thanked Fr. Khris for the gift of his person to the Congregation.

“Consummatum est!”—these where the words that Fr. Khris gladly proclaimed at the beginning of his brief speech of thanksgiving. He recalled how the former Superior General, Don Silvio Sassi, SSP, was highly instrumental in his perseverance to his vocation journey. Fr. Khris fondly remembered how DonSassi frequently encouraged him every time he visited the SSP community in Spain.

The event was graced by the presence of the family members, relatives and friends of the newly-ordained, and several members of the Pauline Family.  A reception was hosted at the Don Zanoni Gym, where everyone enjoyed the delicious thanksgiving feast.

On July 6, 2015, Fr. Khris Llacer celebrated his thanksgiving mass with the community of Makati. The celebration was concluded  with a fellowship.
