SANCTUARY OF SAINT PAUL, MAKATI, PHILIPPINES—Cls. Paolo Asprer, SSP and Khris Llacer, SSP were ordained Deacons by Most Rev. Bishop Broderick S. Pabillo, Auxiliary Bishop of Manila in the Eucharistic Celebration of the Solemnity of the Annunciation, March 25, 2014.
In his homily, Bishop Pabillo stressed how apt that on the feast when we celebrate the realities that God's plan of salvation is not only in His mind but is concretely realized in our history and which was also accomplished through the cooperation, the "yes" of a brave woman Mary, these two Paulines are ordained and committed to be in the service of the Word and Prayer on this solemn day.
Superior General Silvio Sassi, SSP extends intimately a message to Rev. Asprer and Rev. Llacer: "You are entrusted with the Gospel of Christ so that you may announce it. Receive it like Mary who 'kept all these things, reflecting on them in her heart'(Lk 2:51). Proclaim it like the Apostle Paul who 'does everything for the sake of the Gospel' (1 Cor 9:23). Remember always that this is given to you by God as a 'priestly service' (Rom 15:16; 2 Cor 9:12): therefore, let your decision be firm and your faithfulness be constant."
