A one-day Seminar on Media Today: Trends and Challenges was conducted by Nallayan Pathippagam, Chennai, on12/07/2013 for college going students in the Alberione Auditorium, Annanagar East, Chennai. Nallayan Pathippagam Chennai, is the Tamil (language) division of ST PAULS / BYB, Mumbai. Besides book publishing, the Publishing House recently has taken the decision to conduct Media Training Programme for different categories of people. The above seminar was the first initiative of this sort taken by up the Publishing House. The target audience of the seminar was mainly college students from the departments of Visual Communication, Mass Media and Journalism. In all there were 285 students form 18 reputed colleges from the city and suburbs of Chennai.
The seminar was held in three sessions: each session was allotted to two speakers. The entire programme was by and large interactive and after every session there were interactions in the form of questions, clarifications and comments. The resource persons were well known personalities from the Print, Electronic, Digital, and Multimedia. The occasion was also taken introduce SPICE and its media related training programmes to the students. On a very successful note the seminar was concluded with the distribution of certificates to the participants.
