Ordination JK PhilippinesLayog, Iloilo — The SSP Philippines-Macau celebrates here the ordination to priesthood of Rev. John Klen Vianney M. Malificiar, SSP by the Archbishop of Jaro Msgr. Angel Lagdameo, DD on May 4, 2013. It is first ordination in Layog, a municipality of rolling landscapes planted to bamboos, the celebration began with the traditional march (“sugat”) of the ordinandus and his entourage from his residence to the St. Martin the Porres Church where the bishop and the congregation were waiting.

In his homily, the bishop stressed the need these days for priests who are actively evangelizing in the fast evolving communications networks and portals.

 

The Superior General Silvio Sassi, SSP, greeting the good bishop, the Provincial Superior of Philippines-Macau Fr. Jose Aripio, the members of the Pauline Family, the family and friends of Fr. Malificiar sent a very personal note:

“Dear Father John Klen, our founder, Blessed James Alberione, is close to you with his fatherly love. He prays for you and with you, that you may feel strongly the actuality and the urgency of the Pauline apostolate, and that you may be a passionate sower of the “charity of truth” in the Areopagus of communication. May you have the joyful heart of the worker of the Gospel who labors in the field and who struggles that the harvest may be abundant (cf. Jn 4:35).”

Fr. Rollin Tuzzi Flores, SSP and Br. Dominic Egida, SSP were the official witnessess to the ordination.

After the luncheon fellowship which also showcased the talents of arts of Maasin youth in songs and dance related to bamboos, Fr. JK Malificiar, together with Iloilo priests and guests celebrated intimately the ordinandus’ Thanksgiving Mass at 3 o’clock in the afternoon.
