This profession is a landmark in the history of the Society of Saint Paul in the Philippines for Fr. Joey, as Fr. Joselino B. Tuazon is fondly called, is the first diocesan priest to be incorporated as a professed member to the aggregated institute of the Society of Saint Paul.

Fr. Joey shares intimately that he waited for 37 long years (and this of course also includes the four years of formation in the Institute) to become a Pauline diocesan priest.

In his message to Fr. Joey, SSP Superior General Silvio Sassi, SSP encourages the neo-professed to: “… keep a careful watch, with the heart of a Shepherd, over the exalting and restless Areopagus of communication, using it—according to your possibility and opportunity—for the formation of communicators and the education of the receivers of communication. In particular, you will have to exercise wise vigilance over the contents of communication, making people aware of the moral and cultural impact of communication (cf. Article 28.4 of the Statutes of the Aggregated Institutes).”

Fr. Tuzzi Flores, SSP, the homilist and formator of Fr. Joey for a long time extols Fr. Joey for his response to the call of Jesus which is also in line with the thrust of the Plenary Council of the Philippines (PCP II): to encourage the priests of the Philippine church to live a life of simplicity, chastity and obedience.

A sharing of food, music, visual photo projections and fellowship at the Alberione Hall cap the celebration.
