The 8th of May, during this year of the Centenary Foundation of our Pauline Charism, we remember once again in all our communities spread throughout the world the 4th anniversary of the election of Fr. Silvio Sassi as Superior General of the Congregation, of the Pauline Institutes of Consecrated Secular Life and of the Pauline Cooperators.
May I invite you then to offer special prayers for him and for all his personal intentions. With my utmost esteem and gratitude to Fr. Silvio Sassi for guiding us as "father and pastor for the whole congregation", I join you in your prayers for his total well-being, pledging our generous collaboration that is tempered with apostolic zeal so that we "not only keep the Congregation on its feet, but also will have the force to strain ahead".
And may God's "abundant riches of grace" be upon all of us, through Jesus our Master and Risen Lord, as we journey with our Superior General, "proud of being a Pauline congregation that journeys into the future", under the maternal gaze of Mary, Queen of Apostles, with the zeal of Paul as modelled before us by Blessed James Alberione and Blessed Timothy Giaccardo.
