St. Paul Sanctuary, Makati, June 4, 2017, Solemnity of Pentecost — In a concelebrated Mass at 3:30 PM presided by the Provincial Superior Fr. Jose Aripio, three Novices made their First Religious Profession in the Society of St. Paul. The new SSP professed members are Ian Gabriel Mary Ceblano from San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan, Anthony John Mary Javier from Bacoor, Cavite, and Mike Nathanael Mary Manalo from General Luna, Quezon Province.

Fr. Rogelio Magbanua was the homilist. Speaking of the peace that the Risen Christ breathed on the apostles on the day of Pentecost, he said that peace does not come easy for the religious community that remains human and struggling with weaknesses of members. But humility, mercy, and forgiveness bear fruits of peace.

Part of the rite was the renewal of vows of three Juniors — Buen Andrew Cruz, Mark Lawrence Fabregas, and Gleindolf Cadiz — who were not among the renewalists on May 29.

Coming for the occasion were members of the Pauline Family, families, friends, and benefactors of the Novices, especially from San Fernando, Pampanga where the SSP Novitiate is located.

After Communion, Fr. Khris Llacer, the Provincial Secretary, read the message of the Superior General. Don Valdir Jose De Castro noted that the Solemnity of Pentecost is the “birthday of the Church.” Here, the newly professed should find the meaning and fullness of their first profession in the Society of St. Paul. It is the Holy Spirit who has touched their hearts and made them understand that to follow the Master is the greatest gift one receives. The Superior General particularly expressed gratitude to the parents of the newly professed since, thanks to them, the Lord has begun in the three young men the adventure of love.

After the Mass, the assembly gathered at the Alberione Hall for the agape.
