Sassi - ParolinMonday morning, 28 July, at 10,45, in the Vatican Apostolic Palace, Card. PIETRO PAROLIN, Secretary of State, has received in audience the Superior General Fr. Silvio Sassi, accompanied by Fr. Alberto Fusi, Procurator General. The audience, which started at 10,45 and lasting for about an hour, has unfolded in a climate of great serenity, of attentive reciprocal listening and of amiable welcoming.

The Superior General has introduced the meeting making a review of the distinctive features of our presence and of our specific apostolic activity in each of the Circumscriptions in the five continents. The Cardinal has listened with evident interest what was explained to him and did not fail to ask questions regarding the same, pausing moreover on the "difficult" situations where we find ourselves in some nations of Latin America and taking interest in the vocational and formative reality the Congregation is living. In particular, he has called our attention to the borderless area of "digital" communication, a true "outskirt" of the spirit inhabited by an ever increasing number of men and women for whom the announcement of the Word which saves cannot be absent.

At the end of the audience the Superior General has addressed to the Cardinal, in the name of the entire Pauline Family known and appreciated by Him, the invitation to preside over the concluding eucharistic celebration of the Centenary of our religious Family. It will take place next 27 November, at 5,30 p.m., in the Crypt of the Basilica of Mary Queen of Apostles in Rome. In the morning of Thursday 27 November, at 12 noon, in the Paul VI audience hall, Pope Francis will receive in a special audience all the members of the Pauline Family on the occasion of the centenary of its foundation. Card. Parolin has also promptly accepted the invitation, promising to visit the Pauline Community staying in Vatican City and assigned in the Telephone Service of the Holy See.
