So rich is the personality and thought of Paul that it requires a gradual approach from various points of view to allow us to have access to the treasures contained in his letters. It is the objective of this proposed seminar that we discover these riches by means of five “doors” to approach the man Paul, the apostle of the Gospel that is Jesus Christ.
He is a Pauline priest, native of the Congo, and has a license in Sacred Scripture from the Pontifical Biblical Institute of Rome. He teaches Exegesis in the University of Saint Augustine and in the Higher Institute of Religious Pedagogy in Kinshasa. He is Coordinator of the translation équipe of the Bible in simple French for Africa. He is a member of the Pan-African Association of Catholic Exegetes (APECA).
Since last year, the Episcopal Conference of the Congo has named him member of the Committee directing the Biblical Apostolate in the Congo.
Member of the Salesian Congregation, he has a Degree in Theology from the University of Würzburg, Germany. He is Dean of the Faculty of Theology of Benediktbeuern (Germany).
He has studied New Testament exegesis under the guidance of E. Schanckenburg with whom he wrote his qualifying thesis. He has collaborated in numerous publications. His most significant books are Der erste Clemensbrief, übersetzt und erklärt, (Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht Göttingen, 1998) and Die 'Wahre Lehre' des Kelsos, übersetzt und erklärt (Herder, Freiburg, 2005).
riel Álvarez ValdésPriest, Licentiate Summa cum Laude in biblical theology at the Franciscan Biblical Faculty in Jerusalem (Israel), he has a Degree from the Pontifical University of Salamanca. In Argentina he is a professor of Sacred Scripture in the Major Seminary and of Theology in the Catholic University of Santiago del Estero.
In 1996 he has been aggregated to the Italian Biblical Association and in 2003 to the Spanish of the same name. For several years he dedicates himself to the popular dissemination of scientific research of the Bible, through conferences and writings translated in various languages. Among his books stands out the series Enigmas de la Biblia [Enigmas of the Bible] that in a pleasant manner has made closer biblical research to thousands of persons.
