Layog, Iloilo — The SSP Philippines-Macau celebrates here the ordination to priesthood of Rev. John Klen Vianney M. Malificiar, SSP by the Archbishop of Jaro Msgr. Angel Lagdameo, DD on May 4, 2013. It is first ordination in Layog, a municipality of rolling landscapes planted to bamboos, the celebration   began with the traditional march (“sugat”) of the ordinandus and his entourage from his residence to the St. Martin the Porres Church where the bishop and the congregation were waiting.

In his homily, the bishop stressed the need these days for priests who are actively evangelizing in the fast evolving communications networks and portals. 

El pasado 18 de mayo en la fiesta de María Reina de los Apóstoles, a las cuatro de la tarde se ha reunido la Familia Paulina para acompañar a la profesión perpetua en la Sociedad San Pablo del clérigo JOSÉ ÁNGEL TORRES MALDONADO, en una ceremonia privada, presidida por el Padre Gustavo Nova Nova, superior regional de la región, VENEZUELA – BOLIVIA, organizada por  los formandos, aspirantes  y juniores de la comunidad. El acto fue otro paso de preparación a los cien años de la congregación en el mundo.

Br Mathew was born to Chacko John and Aleykutty Mathew on 3 March 1955 at Paingottoor in Kerala, India. He has two brothers and one sister who is a nun. After completing his Pre-degree course in his home town, he joined Society of St Paul in Mumbai on 16 July 1973 where he made his Aspirancy and Postulancy. He made his Novitiate in Bangalore where he also made his first profession on 30 June 1977. Br Mathew spent his Juniorate in the communities of Allahabad and Bangalore. He made his Perpetual Profession in Bangalore on 30 June 1983..
